It’s Feature Friday time! This week we are featuring our Chapter’s Secretary, Evie Hodges. Evie also serves as our Public Relations Chair and manages our website and communications.
Evie is currently the Director of Sales at the Hyatt Place DFW and has worked for Hyatt Hotels for 25 years.
We’ve asked Evie some questions to get to know her better.
How many years have you been in the travel industry?
E: 30 years.
What is your favorite thing about your job or the travel industry?
E: My favorite thing about my job is….Meeting new people and CLOSING THE SALE. But mostly working with my amazing staff – They truly make my job easy as we have been the #1 hotel out of all the Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotels globally in customer service since opening our hotel 7 years ago and that is just amazing!!!!!!!
What is your motto for the 2022 year?
E: So far for me 2022 has been the worst year of my life – so my motto is – Just Breathe…It’s just a bad day, not a bad life!
Where is your dream travel destination or perfect vacation?
E: My dream travel destination would be Bora Bora and to stay in one of those bungalows on top of the water. The perfect vacation for me is going to Georgia to visit my family and also my annual Hawaii trip with my husband and our friends!
How long have you been a GBTA or DFW Chapter member?
E: I have been a part of BTA for over 23 years and love our chapter and all the friends and connections I have made over the years!
