This Friday, we are highlighting a new board position of the Charity Chair. Our Charity Chair is Ruth Bilbo, who is the Business Travel Sales Manager at the DoubleTree by Hilton Campbell Centre. Ruth has been at the DoubleTree for almost 2 years. We asked Ruth a few questions, check them out below!
How many years have you been in the travel industry?
R: 23 years
What is your favorite thing about your job or the travel industry?
R: My favorite thing about the hospitality industry is the people! I've met so many generous, funny, hardworking people that bring dedication and energy to their work. I learn from them every single day.
What is your motto for the 2023 year?
R: "Happiness is not a goal. It's a by-product of a life well-lived."
Where is your dream travel destination or perfect vacation?
R: My dream trip is to take a safari in Africa and take a side trip to visit the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Rescue Center in Narobi.
How long have you been a GBTA or DFW Chapter member?
R: I've been a member of the DFW-BTA Chapter for 6 years.
Ruth has been a great addition to our board this year. She assisted with the Meals for Wheels Pet Program drive at our May Meeting and is working with other volunteer opportunities this year! Thank you for everything you do!
